Search in the map does not work

How to reproduce:

1) open the map - http://www.geocaching.com/map

2) type in "Chicago, IL" (or whatever place you wish) and press Enter (or click the search button)

3) nothing happens

Yep, seeing the same thing with Firefox 45.0.2

However, this is working okay on IE 11

It works with Firefox calling the url with https.

Affirmative, it does work on HTTPS on FF 45.0.2.

 

Groundspeak, please change the link to the map on the profile page (which itself already is on https) so we don't have to manually retype the address in the address bar. Or make it work on http.

XMLHttpRequest cannot load https://www.geocaching.com/api/geocode?q=London.

No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource.

Origin 'http://www.geocaching.com' is therefore not allowed access. The response had HTTP status code 403.

We just want the devs to change the map link on the profile page to "https". It's only ONE letter to type. They were notified by Moun10Bike on April 22 and we have May 2 today.

You are likely seeing the issue on the map where search does not work if you are using http:// protocol (as opposed to https://). This has been fixed and the fix will go live at out next site update.

I believe the next site update will occur tomorrow (they generally happen on Tuesdays).

It doesn't look like there was a site update yesterday, so the fix hasn't been applied yet. Until it is, you can use the workaround of simply changing "http" to "https" in the URL of the map page to get the search to work.

The link on the "Your profile" page is fixed to https. It took only two weeks from the report. Thank you!
