missing pointer on garmin 60 csx

Recommended Posts

I just got a Garmin 60 csx. It was working fine for about a week then I left it on overnight, the batteries died, and when I changed them the pointer disappeared. No matter what waypoint I choose it won't navigate me properly. The map still works and draws a nice pink line to where I want to be, but none of the "go to" data appears in their fields, including distance, ETA, and of course, the pointer. I have gone to the garmin site and reloaded the program but that hasn't helped. Is there some setting I changed by accident. Does anyone out there know what's going on?

Sounds to me like your compass page reset to "course pointer". Scroll through the pages until you get to the compass page. Select the menu for that page and select the "bearing pointer" and you should get it back.

Thanks but I have tried switching between course and bearing pointer. Neither one works. Also neither one provides the missing distance and ETA information. Helpful stuff when looking for a cache.

Hello, a google search for "garmin 60csx manual" should lead to several pages where the manual can be downloaded. This is the official Garmin download page https://support.garm...chManuals.faces

Page 54 tells how to have the data fields showing. There's a ton of other information in the manual. I always reckon if you think you've tried everything it's time to read the book!

Hope this will help
