+Nordlandspinner
Hi, my Garmin etrex 20 is not starting properly. After I pushed the startbutton, it Shows "Garmin" but it is not going any farther. After a couple of minutes I give up and pull out the batteries, because it is not possible to do anything else. The Garmin would not repsond to anything else. Useally I try this for at least a couple of times befor the Garmin is starting correct. Next time I want to start the Garmin the same Promlem will Show. I allready did a hard reset, downloaded the newest doftware update und changed the batteries... any Ideas, what I can do? Vielen Dank! Quote Link to comment

+Nordlandspinner
How many caches in GPX you have? Have you deleted all surplus files with waypoints and tracks? Yes I deleted all, but I put some pocket Queries an again, so I am not sure about the amount of files. But I put everything on the sd-card. Quote Link to comment
+MartyBartfast
I would start by deleting all the .gpx files you have put on it, and any additional maps (make sure to keep a copy on your PC though), then see if it starts OK with nothing on it, if so add things back one at a time and check it restarts OK until you find what is causing the delay. Note that each time you add new .gpx files to the device it will need to process those files the next time you turn it on, and that can take several minutes. Quote Link to comment
+GeoLog81
Please make also sure the amount of points in the GPX files doesn't exceed 2000. At best is to keep safe distance to that limit. Quote Link to comment
