HOODFIELD
Hello community, Sorry I have to go off on a little bit of a rant because I've recently had some bad experiences trying to purchase a custom travel bug decal. I placed my first order with DebbiedoesDecals. I ordered a Black decal with a clear background but received a white background. No big deal but after 2 emails and 2 weeks later I did not receive a response. Only after opening a dispute with my credit card did I receive a message asking if my problem had been addressed when clearly the email string was not replied too. Then the seller insisted that I received the correct item, I replied back with a photo of what I received and there was no more response after that. No problem, my credit card dispute was approved. Totally disappointing experience with that company because I have ordered from them in the past with no issue, and just the thought that they would fight me over a $12 item that probably cost cents to remake is ridiculous. Not to mention $4 out of that is shipping where the envelope I received is clearly marked 49 cents. Not even a piece of cardboard to keep the decal from bending just a decal thrown in an envelope shipped for $4. Next company I tried was Worldcaching.com. There website states most orders within the US ship in 24 hours. My order was still in process on Monday May 4th.(8 days after placing it) I called and left a voicemail, did not hear back. Called again on May 6th and spoke with who I assume to be the owner. She was very nice and apologized for being out of town and assured me my order would ship that Fri, May 8th. (Keep in mind they claim 24 hours) On Tues may 12th I sent another email which was not responded too and today I just decided to open a PayPal dispute because it's absolutely ridiculous to give my business to companies like this. With that being said can anyone recommend to me a vinyl decal company that can make me a travel bug where I provide the number with a clear background. I'm sure there must be others besides these 2 which come up immediately in a Google search. I'm sorry about the rant but I just had to get this out there and hopefully some people will think twice when ordering from one of these companies. Quote Link to comment

T.D.M.22
Try a local company? Also keep in mind that at least a couple geocaching suppliers use Debbie does decals for their vinyl. Quote Link to comment
NanCycle
Try a local company? Also keep in mind that at least a couple geocaching suppliers use Debbie does decals for their vinyl. When I tried a local company, they quoted me a price of $75. And they wanted me to provide an image in a specific software, which I don't remember, don't have, and never heard of. Anyway, I'm not paying $75 for a decal. Quote Link to comment
HOODFIELD
I ended up going to a local company that specializes in advertising on trucks and vans. They charged me $25 and made the decal the exact size to fit the space on my Jeep I wanted to stick it on. In addition they laminated it for extra protection. This is a big plus because a previous decal I bought from DebbieDoesDecals had begun flaking after 2 years. Edited May 25, 2015 by HOODFIELD Quote Link to comment
HOODFIELD
I just wanted to share another great travel bug option. This company specializes in Jeep decals. I saw they offer reflective vinyl and I thought it would be a nice touch for a travel bug. This was a custom order and custom size according to my specifications. Cost was $9 and free shipping. This did take about three weeks but the site clearly states the wait times. If anybody is interested you just email and tell him what you want. The owner is very responsive. Daytime its black. At night when a light shines on it. Edited July 5, 2015 by Eartha remove commercial link. Quote Link to comment

Eartha
Please refrain from posting sales links in the travel bug forums. Quote Link to comment
