Can I / How do I view a field note?

So I had never used the field notes option until I was nicely introduced to them in another thread. Turned out I actually had one from like 2008 in my profile, never even knew it was there... So, my question... How do I view the note? I can click the create log and see it but is there just a way to view it and or edit it without needing to do the created a log option? I clicked the cache name for the field note and it just brings me to the cache page but I cannot see anything to tell me it has a field note or even where I can go to view it.

Thanks

You mean -- in the GPSr or on the field notes page itself?

If in the field notes page, you should be able to read it, if you had actually written something and had uploaded it. You are given the option to simply delete it, if that is what you want to do.

If you hadn't written anything, it would probably be blank (no text) with a smiley, frown, or note icon only, dependent upon what type of note you had entered it as.

If you mean on the GPSr unit itself... some units allow you to read it, but I do not think that any of them allow for edit while it still resides in the unit. You would do the editing after uploading to the field notes page.

On the GC.com page is where I mean. I can see I have a field not. Shows a dnf frown. There is no way to open it or view But if I click the create log it opens the log page and shows a sentence of text that I am guessing was the note I had written in 2012.

Yeah, the "Compose Log" link is the only way to view the text of the field note. I usually open the link in a new tab. Then, if I'm not ready to submit a log, I just close the tab.
