oregon 650 getting to next coordinates and geo caching overseas

When I am out doing a multi cache, i put in the next set of coordinates. Then all i get is a line showing on the map to the next co ordinates. How do i get the gps to show me how far it is or put a compass on the gps like it does on the geo cache dashboard.

 

I am going to thailand and malaysia sshortly. What sort of map do i need to download? Will a street map do?

Which options do i choose for the maps?

It will produce them in several flavors automatically, but be sure you download the *.img files. Unless you want *.exe files for Mapsource or Basecamp. the *.img file(s) are all you need.
