+Dora the Explorer!
How do i load geo caches on a garmin nuvi 3450? I already have a handheld gps, but would just like to see on the car gps, the caches in the area's that i travel through. I wont be using it out of the car. Quote Link to comment
+cadtenchy
does the same go for the 3598? I have been researching garmins all day and found the Nuvi_GPX_v2 macro for GSAK, which looked to be what was required? Quote Link to comment
+Red90
You can, but there are "problems". You are limited in the amount of favorites on the device and when you want to get rid of them to update, you need to delete one by one or delete them all. Custom POIs with a GSAk macro is a better choice and you then can have all of the cache information available. They do not work great for finding a cache, though, as the software is not really designed around that sort of thing. Create for routing to the parking location. Quote Link to comment
+BlackRose67
I use a GSAK macro to export caches as POIs onto a microSD card that I insert into my 2595LMT. Works great for navigating to caches, or near caches when the Garmin lady says "Navigate off road". Quote Link to comment

Yes just for seeing caches whilst driving is what I want. I use a handheld for actually finding the cache. +Red90
Actually you can bulk select which favourites to delete on the later nuvis so you're not limited to deleting all or one at a time But it is no use when deleting hundreds of them and wanting to leave your personal waypoints on the unit. With custom POIs, you can delete or replace files and only those are affected. The same holds for geocaches on a handheld. On all Garmins waypoint management is poor. Quote Link to comment
