Hmmm...Surfer....ok...its on my list....others are welcome to help

Why type of GPS do you own

MeriGold, Sportrak Mar and Geko 101's. His right hand looks like it would work good.

This:

is what the original was.

And this:

8f77206c-b866-4fcc-9425-63ef880da361.jpg

is for our personal TB, Surfer's Shadow.

That was pretty much the extent of my ability. <_<

Oh wow! Help with Avatars! I've NEVER liked the ones I've setup for myself!

This is a kind offer - thanx! I think the community can use more people applying their specialized talents to the hobby. For example, I stink at hiding containers in the woods, but I happen to have a little technical knowledge that some cachers have benefitted from so that's what I choose to share. A couple of hours from now, I'm delivering an "Intro to Geocaching" course because I happen to one in our local group that isn't afraid of public speaking. Giving where you can is a Good Thing.

I'll confess that I'm artistically impaired and have floated a request for a logo/icon for GPSBabel a few times but haven't really gotten anything that's aroused me. I'd like something sutitable for the GPSBabel web pages, GUI icons, and so on. The few contributions I've gotten looked like a GPS taped to the Eiffel Tower which just seemed kind of weird. Can any of you folks with talent in this area help come up with something that scales well, rapidly expresses the concept of conversions/transformations of locations overcoming the barrier of language (that was where my original "Tower of Babel" in the name came from; whether you treat the Bible or the Hitchikers Guide as your Holy Book, you get the reference) and isn't overly encumbered?

There's a free copy of GPSBabel in it for you. <_< OK, I'll throw in a linky link on the web pages to a site of your choosing and float your favorite GPSBabel wish list item closer to the top.

Thanx.

Signed,

The Chief Babel Head

I really like this one. The guy is in a perfect position. Just one issue with the bike itself. Did anyone notice that there is a derailure on the rear of this bike. Problem is this is a track bike, and in track racing, only single speed, fixed gear bikes without shifters, derailures, or brakes are allowed. Besides, it shows a derailure but no shifter, not on the down tube, not on the bar ends, and not on the hoods.

Just messing with you Amish Hacker, all that is true, but dont bother fixing it. I am the only one obssed enough to find that. GREAT WORK

I'd like to get an avatar for my wife, Mother Hen.

Something very similar to mine, maybe even as simple as just flipping the image so it faces the other way and making it appear a little more feminine (bow on top of the head, a pocketbook or something)...feminine (but evil!) nonetheless.

We'd really appreciate it! We're artistically challenged over here.

BTW - OT - we've enjoyed watching the avatar thread and the AS sock puppets!! You guys are so creative (jealousy here) <_<

For Geocyclist, AmishHacker, how about replacing the front wheel of the bike with the geocaching 'GX' logo I keep seeing? Does that make sense?

Paula (who is not even going to pretend she can create an image you can see)

Good idea...and then put N,E,S,W inside of the rear wheel, at their respective compass positions....

AH, can you censor bar Team 360's avatar? It's very distracting.

Seriously, this is a cool thing you are doing. I just wished avatars could be animated, then I'd put in a request for Bucky (the cat in my avatar) to do the Psycho stabbing routine with his logging pencil.

Anyway, GREAT job on what I seen in here so far.

I took the hat and smoothed out the colors so it would match the cartoon look of your avatar. Then I made the hat cast a shadow on the face. I also changed the background to the gray of the forums. I hope you like this one. It is 50% smaller and may come out clearer when you place it as your avatar

Same with this one but the hand created a new problem. So it has to look like she is pushing the hat up.

Really nice AmishHaker, I also like how you softened the colors and made the shadow. My Paint Shop Pro skills definately have a ways to go. Half the time when I create something with a transparent background I end up loosing it on the save.

Did a google for "stress" and came up with this image.

I have seen many on this site talk of Adobe Photoshop for Image editing. I froogled it, and found that is very expensive. The cheapest I could find it was for version 5.0 for $22.00, but am wondering what I can do with it that my current imaging suite, Microsoft Picture It, can't do. Sorry for making this it own thread!

AH:

Thanks for the offer! If you are still open for Avatar Creation business...

Map of Australia (probably just the outline) with "GUFF" appearing in the middle, maybe

G U

F F

and with the GC colors, similar to an avatar JMBella had some time ago.

Got it?

OzGuff

N.B. The "Oz" comes from my nationality -- which is Oz-tralian, and the "Guff" comes from my last name -- which contains "guff."
