Travel Bug has reached its goal.

I just picked up my first travel bug in Kitty Hawk on the North Carolina shore. When I went online to log it I found the current goal to be "Reach the North Carolina Shore". I was going to take it back to Williamsburg, VA with me and put it in a cache there. What to do??

I have the same issue. A TB I grabbed not knowing at the time it was in the location that accomplished the goal. It had been sitting there for a month (in the cache) and I logged it & have kept it traveling around town with me. I messaged the TB owner but they haven't been active for years & have not had a reply. I kind of figured I'm keeping it going but can always turn it back in if the original owner every contacts me. In the mean time, I'm sort of using it as my mascot documenting all the places I've been.

What do you mean by, "but can always turn it back in if the original owner every contacts me"?

Just because the TO isn't active any longer (that you know of...) doesn't mean the thing's now yours...
