The list of Asian countries as provided by Wikipedia is pretty big so we will see how popular this forum becomes and make changes as needed in the future. Please note that there is a different section for the Arabian Peninsula.

Perhaps it would help if you started your subject line with the country name so that it is easy to see them among the other countries? Examples:

Singapore: event on 1st Sunday of June

or

India: roll call

etc.

I think using the 2-letter ISO-3166-1 alpha2 country code would be better then:

"[sG] blah blah blah" (Singapore)

"[MY] ...." (Malaysia)

"[iN] ..." (India)

"ID": ..." (Indonesia)

etc. These are the same codes used in the country domains, so they should be easily recognizable. A full list

is on the Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1_alpha-2

Domo!!! And Hello Fellow Asian Geocachers!

Great news for those who use Double-Byte languages!

As in the forum Geocaching.com and Geocaching Live API Downtime, after Tuesday, March 5th at 8pm PST (GMT -8) when the site comes back online, you will be able to type your logs in your native language directly, without using the HTML Entity encoding. Geocaching web site is finally upgrading to the Unicode standard, opening the door of Geocaching to even more people around the world!

Awesome improvement!

Thanks Groundspeak and Hampsters!

Hello, Everyone!

Glad that someone has created a new forum for geocachers in Asia.

Me and my friends have recently placed 11 caches in India but we need to find some local geocachers who could help us to maintain them so that they get published. Caches have been placed in Hyderabad, Khamman, Bubanesvar, Chitrakot Waterfalls, Jamshedpur and eastern part of Himalayas by Darjeeling (Tumling etc).

We have placed these caches as the aim of our expedition Khazane Ki Khoj with a thought to maintain tourism in Indian less visited towns. We would be more than happy if someone could help us. Our contact email is indiaexpedition2012@hotmail.com.

Many Thanks

Khazane Ki Khoj
