LoveOutdoors5
I am a new geocacher. I have been using a Geomate Jr for awhile & writing a load of notes before going out after the geocaches. I am tired of that. I would like a good GPS that has the following capabilities: maps with birds' eye views, economically priced (up to $200?) & doesn't take a rocket-scientist to use. Since I want maps, I assume it would need plenty of storage capabilities also. There are so many GPS units available. Please Help! Thanks! Brenda Quote Link to comment
+Redwoods Mtn Biker
What do you mean by Birds Eye view? Are you talking about maps or aerial photos? Quote Link to comment
+Walts Hunting
No GPSs come with Birds Eye view. That is a yearly fee from Garmin although if you load it up the first year with everywhere you think you will go you can let it expire. There are many sites where you can compare devices side by side so look for those. If you are going to use Birdseye make sure it takes a micro sdcard. That way you get scads of space and can actually fill up several of them to use as needed. This site http://gpsnow.com/ offers nice comparisons of units. Quote Link to comment
