TexasbornDutchman
I am trekking to a local restaurant to celebrate my father's birthday. - I am SURE that there must be some / many caches hidden in / around this location. How should I begin hunting for geocaches without any coordinants nor any planned(?) caches are even hidden here? Quote Link to comment
+TriciaG
You can look up the area on the geocaching map: http://www.geocaching.com/map/ From there you can see the cache pages and get the coordinates. I can't imagine hunting for caches without coordinates or any other indication that there is a cache nearby. Quote Link to comment
+niraD
Have you tried entering the restaurant's street address in the search page? When I do that, I get a list of caches near the restaurant. Quote Link to comment
+TeamRabbitRun
This is really interesting. Take a look at the OP's history and past six year's worth of forum posts. TexasBornDutchman, you're a seven-year member with at least one owned Garmin device (without a manual), a smartphone, forum inquiries about buying other GPSr's, no registered finds, and several queries about hiding caches. I know not everyone logs their finds online, but... I think you'd get a lot more out of this with someone to work with. I suggest you seek out local cachers in your area. Maybe attend a local Event and introduce yourself, even if only to the Event Organizer! There's an awful lot to this that would make your efforts much more worthwhile. Quote Link to comment
+wmpastor
Have you tried entering the restaurant's street address in the search page? When I do that, I get a list of caches near the restaurant. That's a good technique that I never used. I chose a suburban restaurant, entered the address and found that there were three caches within a quarter mile. Edited August 10, 2016 by wmpastor Quote Link to comment
