After exploring the Murals and petroglyphs East of Chloride yesterday, grandson and me continued up Big Wash road. My GPS indicated a geocache close to the road. Grandson found it and I signed the log. I tried to locate it on the geocache map with no luck. How can I log the find on my file?

What is the GC# and/or Cache Name it was listed under on your GPS? There are many reasons why it could be on your GPS, but not so easy to locate on the site now. Give some additional information that can be tracked down, and someone will figure it out.

You should be able to find the GC code, if it's still on your gps.

If you didn't find another cache in the area, could you perhaps give us an idea of where this is?

Don't suppose your grandson noticed any other usernames on the log? That could help as well.

How did it get on your GPS? Did you load it? Was it preloaded when you bought the GPS? If it was a preloaded cache and has been there for some time, perhaps it is archived. If you still have it on your GPS, besides the GC code and/or name, does your GPS show the coordinates? The more information you can give, the easier it would be for someone to help you.

Okay, Chloride Arizona. East of, over to Big Wash Road.

There's a number of active caches in the area, and a multicache that does not sound like it's close to the road.

Does this link work?

If it's not on the map, then there are a number of possibilities. Most likely an archived cache, if the cache listing was a pre-loaded one on your gps.

The only active cache along Big Wash Road is Windy Cold. There are three archived traditional caches near the murals but they have been offline for many years. There are no hidden waypoints associated with active or archived multicaches, mystery caches, etc., along this Road. There are no unpublished caches along this Road.

the cache I found was not preloaded on my GPS. In the past I have noticed that my GPS will show nearby geocaches on the map, separate from the one I am tracking. I did not think to copy the other names on the log.

If you are using a GPS and not a phone app, and the cache was not preloaded on the GPS, the only way it could get there to show up is if you loaded it. And the only way you could load it is that it was listed. Yes, the GPS will show other caches on the map, but they have to be loaded first. How do you load caches on your GPS? Do you use Pocket Queries, load them individually, or what? Could it be the cache that Keystone mentioned?
