+thebruce0
Would it be possible to adjust the forum settings to allow data:image/ protocol in the "img" tag? In Firefox, you can copy the image content, and when pasting it into the edit box that particular pluging the forum uses properly displays the image. When saving the comment however it's converted to [img=data:image/png;base64, ......] raw data, and the forum software doesn't properly parse and replace it with the HTML image tag. The data: protocol isn't completely supported, but all major browsers now do, and it can be sanitized in the HTML parsing for browsers that don't support it (either by a placeholder/broken image, or even better, create a temporary image that can be displayed in a normal way for those old browsers). More information about good implementation is referenced here. Having this support would be more convenient than having to create and host images manually or provide attachments again; and it provides an additional, simpler way to embed images into a comment (and be entirely self-contained). Is that a feasible request? /:) #hopeful Quote Link to comment
