+niraD
What device are you using? If you're using a smartphone, then which smartphone, and which app? Generally, when I'm searching for geocaches, I don't "figure out the coordinates" at all. I just load the coordinates into my device (either the Neongeo app of my Android phone or my eXplorist 310), then tell my device to navigate to the location. Quote Link to comment

It is a mapping system (datum) basically for utilizing coordinate placements. It wouldn't be necessary if the earth were truly spherical, but it isn't. Over the years, different datums have been created/used... some for specific purposes. WGS84 is the current "standard" in use today. Quote Link to comment
+Chief301
Not sure what you're asking....the coordinates for every cache are listed on that cache's page. You either use a Geocaching app on a smartphone in which case you select the cache you are interested in and go, or you get the coordinates from the cache's page and enter them into your GPS device. Please explain what you have done so far, what app or GPS you are using, etc. Quote Link to comment
