What city, country are you talking about? I somehow missed Cuba in the cache title. It looks like there are 4 caches in Vinales but none in that garden. The closest one is called Villa Maravila and the most recent log is a DNF. It's possible that you found an archived cache. There are no unknown or multi-caches nearby so it's most likely not a final for that cache type. I'll be in Cuba in April and hope to find a cache or two there myself. Quote Link to comment

You can try: 1) find a old cache in the same area 2) look at logs around the time you search 3) look at the finds of other caches that found that cache. It will show all of their finds, including archived caches You can also look at the hidden caches by cache owners in the area and it will show caches they have hidden but were archived. Unfortunately a lot of caches in Cuba seem to be vacations caches with cache owners mostly from Germany. There are a couple of caches in that area from a CO that appears to be local. You might try sending them a message to see if they know of the archived cache. Unfortunately I'll be working in Santa Clara all week but would otherwise love to spend some time in Vinales. I'm starting to wonder if that cache in the botanical garden was listed on one of the other geocaching sites. Do you remember seeing an official geocaching.com logo or if it had a GC code on the container (even if you don't remember what it was). I didn't see it on a couple of the alternate sites that I know of but the site that Garmin was running is no longer active. It's obvious that the cache is still being maintained so it's kind of surprising that there doesn't seem to be a listing for it. Quote Link to comment
