Garmin etrek 20

I am using a Garmin etreck 20 and this winter I lost all my found caches. My GPS does not remember my found caches.

How do I add them back on the GPS. I have about 300 caches found.

You didn't lose them you probably wrote over the file when you next downloaded a PQ that had the same name. If you want them on the device you can download the My Finds Query and then drop it in the device.

 

I guess the first question is why do you want them on there?

We want the geocaches on the GPS because we don't remember which one we did in the region.

I tried to copy the file geocaching-1-loc with no success. The little treasure box on my GPS is still showing as unfound.

I will try a bourbon.

What happened to your GPS to make the finds disappear? Firmware upgrade? crash?

 

How do you normally log your finds?

 

As Walt said, the easiest way is to run you My Finds pocket query and place that GPX file on your device.

You are a premium member. You should look into Pocket Queries. They can be configured to only return caches you haven't found. What most likely happened is you add a new file with the same info and that overwrote the old file.

 

If you use the PQs you don't need to clutter up the device with your old finds.

Yes, we are a premium member and we use pocket querries.

We will try this week-end to erase our old finds and only return caches not found.
