Garmin Etrex 20 won't load from laptop to GPS

Hello. Just bought my Garmin eTrex 20 and can't seem to load from laptop to GPS. I downloaded the Garmin Communicator plug in. I then went back and tried to load from laptop to GPS. But got a message that "Garmin Communicator Plug in Not Detected" So I hit download again. A message comes up saying it's downloaded and names my GPS device. But still won't allow me to load from laptop to GPS. Any input? Thanks!

I bet you are using Internet Explorer?

 

Change browser!

 

Or change your Compatibility Settings.

I am having the same problem. I have been going crazy trying to figure it out.

Actually, I switched to Firefox and everything worked out. I spent hours watching every Youtube video, and reading every tutorial. Found out all of it was for nothing because I was using Internet explorer. I am not great with computers. Did not know that switching my internet browser would make a difference.

 

Also, what we were trying to load. If you click the button "Send to GPS". The window that usually pops up from that would not recognize a GPS is plugged in. It will instruct you to download a Garmin communicator. Click on the link, it will read that you already have the Garmin communicator and your GPS unit. Still Geocaching.com would not recognize the communicator download.

I also had a problem with Pocket Queries not working with internet explorer.

 

So anyone else who reads this thread for this Problem. Switching the internet browser to anything other than Internet explorer will fix the communication problem.
