i guess it's going to take a few more generations before real updates happen with Garmin and the inreach hardware is adopted?

2016, still can't Bluetooth or wifi a file.

Have you seen the Rino 6xx series? You don't think this is an upgrade? This took the Rino series from an Oregon 400 w/radio to an Oregon 700 w/radio. Not sure if you really know what your talking about when it comes to the Rino series but I do know your axe should be plenty sharp by now.

The new Rino's are now shipping and I have a pair on the way. From my understanding, it's basically an Oregon 7xx defaulted to Classic Mode but with the addition of radio features. And great radio features at that.

The new Rino shares the same capacitive screen and same UI as the Oregon 7xx. Camera and LED flashlight/flash. The only thing it lacks from the Oregon 7xx is WIFI capabilities. Bluetooth, yes.

I'm fine without WIFI on an outdoor device that has so many high-end two way communication features and position sending capabilities.

I'm sure you have these in hand now? So to confirm, for approx $100.00 additional for the Rino 755T, you get the same function as a Oregon 750T? (minus WIFI) Size shown on Garmin site is a touch wider and thicker but almost 3-1/2" taller. Is this 3-1/2" additional height mostly antenna with the body being similar? How does it feel in hand to you compared to the Oregon? Thanks again.

Will the radio communication feature of this unit work with all other brands? In other words, you would be able to use the Rino to talk to another FRS user with say a cheap Motorola radio? Or to another licensed GMRS user on their other brand? Thanks!

Yes.
