RVketchers
I have a Garmin 62stc that sticks on "loading profiles". I can't get to any menus. I found a thread on this forum that said I probably had a corrupted profile, but the cure seems to be to replace the all the profile files with new ones. But I don't have new ones. Any suggestions? I've updated the firmware (again) and it gave me a new recreational profile, but all of the other ones are still the old versions. I'm using the latest firmware. Quote Link to comment
+ecanderson
See if you can get another 62 owner to bundle up their *.gpf files from the Garmin/Profiles folder and send them to you as a starting point. I'd send you mine, but they'd be from an Oregon 450, and no telling whether they would work. Quote Link to comment
RVketchers
Right, that might have worked but I have no source to get the files from. I found (on this forum) that a Master Reset can be forced on startup, and it solved my problem. I lost all my settings, of course, but my GPS worked again. The Master Reset for my 62stc can be done when the GPS is off by holding the Quit, Menu and Out buttons down simultaneously, then pressing the start button. As the GPS starts, it will do a Master Reset. Edited April 14, 2014 by RVketchers Quote Link to comment
+Mineral2
have you tried a hard reset? I believe that restores the stock profile settings. Option 2: Remove all the profiles from your device, back them up on your computer. add them back one at a time until you find the one that's causing a problem. Quote Link to comment
