+Justin Of Terrytown
I am going on a five day cruise out of New Orleans (Carnival Triumph: April 24, 2017 to April 29, 2017). I am bringing my GPS so I can do some Geocaching while in port (Mexico: Cozumel and Progreso). Will my GPS be okay if I put it with my luggage or should I bring it with me with my carry on? I just want to double check that the security do not have any machines that will damage it (I heard back in the day, the x-ray machines at the airport could damage film that you use in cameras). +Viajero Perdido
Right. And depending on how far you've flown, your GPS unit may need an unusually long time to acquire satellites, because the satellites overhead aren't at all the ones the unit was expecting. Like, a few minutes, assuming a clear view of the sky. This is normal, and only needs to happen once. You can take care of that on the boat before you head to shore. Enjoy the cruise.
