Nature Trail Caches

I'm trying to find a set of caches on a nature trail in my area. Any tips on finding them or is their a forum for your area that I can post to.

Have you looked on the map of geocaches and located the area? It's possible the caches you're looking for might be premium member only and therefore not visible on your map?

I actually just found a park near me. I try to find a bunch of caches in the same area but I don't have a lot of luck with that.

If there is a bike trail or park I know, I just google the park name with the word "geocaching" and I usually find something. Or you can use the map and zoom in on your area, but it doesn't always work on my computer.

 

Also, I had no idea there were more caches for premium members. How exactly does that work? Thanks.

Are you using the free intro app? That will show a limited number of caches. On the geocaching site, under the "play" tab, click on "view geocache map" and you should see your local caches. You might need to set your home location.

A relatively small number of caches are by and for premium members. It doesn't mean they are necessarily better; some people don't like to have their caches found with the free app, or have other reasons. I looked at the map from one of your found caches, and there aren't that many near you. I wouldn't worry about it.

No I'm using the paid app. I can view a lot of them I just didn't know if there was an easier way to look them up.

Go to http://www.geocaching.com/seek/

 

1.) search by state:

http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?state_id=31

 

2.) pick a cache that you have found already, and click on the map to see more caches in the area. Zoom out, scroll around, etc You will see where cachss are concentrated.

Thanks for checking! There are a ton of caches near me, so I probably won't upgrade to premium for awhile. And I'm also having troubles finding caches lol. I think I need a better "sense".
