+kurchian
I have a collection of caches that I want to visit on an extended road trip. I have all the .GPX's in a folder. Is there any way to combine them into one master .GPX so I can send it to friends so they can load the master .GPX (containing the specific .GPX's) into their GPSr? These caches were individually downloaded and don't conform to a "caches along a route" or any other geocaching.com automated search. Thank you. Quote Link to comment
+MartyBartfast
The simple answer is yes, and there are numerous ways to do it. If you're using a Windows PC I would suggest installing EasyGPS, which will allow you to import all those caches and then export them as a single .gpx, if you're using Linux I would suggest using GPSbabel, don't know about Macs but I think you could also use GPSbabel there. No doubt someone will be along soon with alternatives. Quote Link to comment

+kurchian
I've been playing around with Basecamp but haven't been able to figure out how to create a "master" GPX from several GPX's. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks Quote Link to comment

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks In Basecamp : File/New/List A List is like a database or category. I usually create a List for a Forest Preserve or city we're going to visit. Name your List. File/Import into (your list) Browse to a folder with multiple GPX files in it. Shift-click to select them all. Repeat as many times as desired. File/Export (your list) Give the output GPX a name and save/copy to your GPS. If it's connected, you can browse to the Garmin/GPX folder and save it directly to the device. This single GPX file now has the contents of all the multiple files you loaded earlier. Quote Link to comment
+geodarts
I use an iPhone or iPad app (Geosphere) to do this. Quote Link to comment
+ecanderson
How many files? There are a lot of tools out there, but most of them won't run on a Mac. If it's not huge, if you'll zip them up, one of us could easily combine them for you. Edited February 24, 2015 by ecanderson Quote Link to comment
+Mineral2
You can also make a bookmark list and then create a pocket query from it. Or just create a pocket query of your route or area that you'll be visiting and have nearly all the caches on your gps (it's good to have choices). Quote Link to comment

robertlipe
As there is some confusion above, GPSBabel runs on Macs, Linux, Windows, and some potatoes. It will merge GPX files with geocache data. Quote Link to comment
