Pete1966
I have checked all the FAQ etc and cant seem to find this We are very new to geocaching so are still feeling our way The Question is: My daughter and I both have the smart phone app, we both look for the cache together, can it be logged as a find for both of us at the one time if we find it together?? Thanks in advance for any advice Quote Link to comment

Thanks in advance for any advice Welcome! WHICH App? Groundspeak have 2, and there are others... Do you have separate caching accounts at Groundspeak? Yes, you can both log it. (But not on one account/phone. If it's 2 accounts on one phone, you may have to log out of one account, and log in for the other... However, if one of you logs caches on the phone, the other could log on the web site later)) Edited December 11, 2014 by Bear and Ragged Quote Link to comment

+Bear and Ragged
Look at saving the log as a Field Note. When sent, it can be accessed via http://www.geocaching.com/my/fieldnotes.aspx You can write a better log back at home, than a TFTC at the cache site. Just think, if you like caching, many years down the line, when you have many finds, what will you remember from the find/day/time together if all the logs are "TFTC". Quote Link to comment
+michellepluseight
Are you asking whether you can use the app to log finds on two accounts at once, or whether it's ok for you both to log the find, each on your own account, when you find it together? Quote Link to comment
+Gitchee-Gummee
You can log from the same phone, but you cannot log from the same account. You need to log in to each separate account for each log. It doesn't matter which account is used to Find the cache -- it does matter to Log the find for each user. +WarNinjas
Very good idea to have her own account. I also started caching with my daughter but also do it on my own. Now almost 3500 in it would have been cool to have the ones she found with me separate for if she goes on her own. Quote Link to comment

For what it's worth, I'd recommend posting online logs using the web site. It might be more convenient to log in the field from a smart phone, but you can jot down a field note after finding the cache but it doesn't have to be the complete online line. Instead, write down just enough information so that you can remember the cache, then when you get back home, sit down with a cold beverage and write complete sentences with a full size keyboard. +popokiiti
We log online at home with separate accounts, although we mostly cache together. Quote Link to comment
