+Pork King
Since a few days ago, I have not been able to view any maps on the website. Whenever I click on any "Show larger map" or "map this area", it takes me to this... Just a blank map. Clicking on "set map preferences" or anything else does nothing. Running Google Chrome ver. 42.0.2311.90 m. Help? Quote Link to comment
Moun10Bike
Do you have JavaScript disabled? Quote Link to comment
+Pork King
Do you have JavaScript disabled? Interesting... As I was trying to find out if JavaScript had been disabled in my browser, I came across this message on the Java website... The Java plug-in for web browsers relies on the cross platform plugin architecture NPAPI, which has long been, and currently is, supported by all major web browsers. Google announced in September 2013 plans to remove NPAPI support from Chrome by "the end of 2014", thus effectively dropping support for Silverlight, Java, Facebook Video and other similar NPAPI based plugins. Recently, Google has revised their plans and now state that they plan to completely remove NPAPI by late 2015. As it is unclear if these dates will be further extended or not, we strongly recommend Java users consider alternatives to Chrome as soon as possible. Instead, we recommend Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari as longer-term options. As of April 2015, starting with Chrome Version 42, Google has added an additional step to configuring NPAPI based plugins like Java to run Even after following that additional step mentioned above, I still can't see anything. Looks like it's time to download firefox... Quote Link to comment
+Pork King
Seems Firefox (with Java enabled) was no help... Perhaps it is my internet connection. Exede places some weird restrictions when I go over my data allowance, though I've never had this problem before. Quote Link to comment
+niraD
JavaScript is not at all the same thing as Java. The similarity in their names is pure marketing. Quote Link to comment
Moun10Bike
Yep, JavaScript is completely different from Java. The screenshot you posted is indicative of JavaScript being turned off or blocked. Quote Link to comment
+Pork King
So, JavaScript is (and has been) enabled, but still no map. Though it is working on my android phone browser now on my internet connection where it wasn't working even on my phone the last time I tried it. I'm going to attribute it to my restricted internet access... Quote Link to comment
+ecanderson
Hmm.. doubt your 'restricted' access has much to do with it. Your ISP won't know or care whether or not javascript is included in the page or not. All they see are Port 80 requests being fulfilled from one server or another. With both Chrome and Firefox failing, it sounds as though there's yet more to be discovered about your machine's configuration. Understand, the immediate problem is 'unique' to your machine, and others running the same browsers aren't seeing this. I'm curious. You said "...where it wasn't working even on my phone the last time I tried it." Were you seeing exactly the same symptoms on your phone? If so, were you using a WiFi from your home for your phone connection, or a separate wireless connection when this happened? Quote Link to comment
+Pork King
... I'm curious. You said "...where it wasn't working even on my phone the last time I tried it." Were you seeing exactly the same symptoms on your phone? If so, were you using a WiFi from your home for your phone connection, or a separate wireless connection when this happened? I was seeing exactly the same symptoms on my phone using the same wifi connection that my computer is using both times (the time it did not work on my phone, and the time it did work). I have not added any new software or downloaded anything new since this started happening. Edit to add: I can't seem to pull up my gmail in standard view (I have to view it in HTML only). +Pork King
Ok, so the maps work on my android phone, and they work on my laptop when I use Opera, but they still don't work on Chrome or Firefox or IE... Thoughts? Quote Link to comment
+ecanderson
For Firefox, humor me just for a bit. In the location bar, type about:config Scroll down to the line that says javascript.enabled. Does it show TRUE? Quote Link to comment

+ecanderson
Too strange. I don't know if they offer eye of newt, toe of frog, and tongue of dog in Mississippi, but it might be worth stocking up for next time. Quote Link to comment
