GidgetCooper
New to this. I found my first geocache today. Bit of a fun way to kill 15 mins. But I notice a difference between this site and Geocaching au. On the australian one there are moveable caches. But on this one there doesn't seem to be a similar option. Only mystery, multi and traditional? I saw a trackable thing you can buy but unsure of it. Quote Link to comment

There are still some grandfathered ones, though. You can see them on this bookmark list (this list also includes some other oddball, but not necessarily moving, caches). IIRC, Travel Bugs were created as a replacement for moving caches. They're items with a unique tracking code that are moved from cache to cache, but they aren't actual geocaches. +Crew 153
The geocaching.au site is independent from this site and has their own listings although they do mirror the caches on this site for statistical purposes only. You will notice that the id# of the caches that are listed exclusively on that site begin with GA whereas the caches listed on this site commence with GC. The Australian site has a number of cache types which are not currently allowed to be listed on this site. Moving caches and Webcam caches are some. Quote Link to comment
+colleda
I think most Aussie cachers are on this site. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
Moving caches have been banned on Geocaching.com for some time. The problem is that once a moving cache was released there was no control over where it could be hidden and some were moved to places that were off limits. Geocaching.au apparently doesn't have that limitation. Edited January 24, 2016 by briansnat Quote Link to comment
