carloadof8balls
Hi. Bit new to GC and forums. Is there a way to search for caches on the map that are best found at nigh?t I.e using torches to find the glow in the dark reflectors to direct you to the cache. Any help or guidance much appreciated Carloadof8balls Quote Link to comment
niraD
Once you find one night cache, there's a good chance that it is on a bookmark list for night caches. You can use that bookmark list to find other night caches. But to find that first night cache, your best bet is to use pocket queries to find caches with one or more of certain attributes, specifically: Night Cache Recommended at Night Flashlight Required UV Light Required Quote Link to comment

carloadof8balls
Hi neraD I'm new to pocket queries by the way. I'm in Brighton south UK could you somehow generate a sample query to send me? I'm looking for these types of caches in my close vicinity. Just not sure exactly which boxes to tick and info to enter Many thanks in advance Quote Link to comment
niraD
Here's a good FAQ for pocket queries: http://www.markwell.us/pq.htm I'd create a PQ and leave everything at the default except: the From Origin field would be GC Code, with the GC Code of a nearby cache you've found the Attributes to Include field would specify only the Night Cache attribute Then, instead of running the PQ, I'd preview it to see what caches appeared. Hopefully that would give me a bookmark list. Quote Link to comment
BAMBOOZLE
Geocaching during the day appears suspicious.....at night it appears evil. Be prepared to meet police.......a lot. Quote Link to comment
carloadof8balls
Ahh!! I see now. The gc code is one close to you.. Got ya!! Thanks niraD And thanks bamboozle for the warning. It's pretty quiet in the south UK so hopefully not too many police around.. Quote Link to comment
niraD
FWIW, I've never had any encounter with LEOs while night caching. Of course, it helps that the night caches I've done have been in locations that were open to the public at night, and were relatively remote. Quote Link to comment
