When will Favorite Points and NM & NA Logs be added?

Recommended Posts

I finally got the new iPhone app yesterday, so I'm having fun learning it. There are a lot of lovely features and I know I will enjoy using it.

I see from the app itself and also the forums that not all functionality has been added to it. I am wondering when it will have the following features:

-Add a Favorite Point

-Log a Needs Maintenance or Needs Archiving

I often find several caches or more in a single day and guarantee I will not remember which ones are my favorites and which ones might be broken by the time I get home. These features seem critical to the whole "crowd sourcing" aspect of geocaching.

The older app (which has these features) will be no longer supported in a month, so I was wondering if there are plans to add these features soon.

thanks

Just a thought but if you'll be unable to remember which caches are the ones you want to give a favourite point to, do they really deserve it?

LOL. I get what you mean, but yes. If I do a large series of caches on a hike or by bicycle, and one was hidden in a particularly clever way, I like to acknowledge that. But if it was called "XYZ #15" and I did 7 more after that, I'll likely forget that it was better than the rest.

Besides, the basic suggestion that I always remember all the details of even a single cache found 5 hours later is unsupported by my brain. Hence my reliance on devices!

Of course, I could add a note in my field notes to remember later (and hopefully see that note when I upload), but the bottom line is that the functionality existed in the old version, so why not have it in the new one?

About that field note.

In the new app there is no place to put a field note. Field notes that you noted on the web with that cache are not readable in the app.

So Groundspeak please add:

Field note

Favorite

Need maintenance

Needs archiving

And it was always very handy to log the TB's while logging the cache. Instead of doing it seperate.
