+BikeBill
FYI to you Oregon 6*0 guys: Firmware Version 4.20 just came out. It seems to be a minor one. Changes from version 4.10 to 4.20: - Improved cartography support - Improved boot time when a large amount of BirdsEye satellite imagery is present It would be nice if there were some improvements hidden in there to reduce the occasional freeze-ups and improve accuracy. We'll see. Edited September 27, 2014 by BikeBill Quote Link to comment
+BikeBill
Has anyone tried 4.20 yet? Any difference in performance? I read elsewhere that it did help with boot time for those who use Birdseye imagery. I don't, so that would make no difference to me. Edited September 28, 2014 by BikeBill Quote Link to comment
+splashy
I update a few days ago, until now no problems. I don't use B Eye images. Quote Link to comment
mjr15197
After a few days of normal behavior running 4.2, my 600t no longer acquires a signal when using GPS+GLONASS. I have to select GPS only for the unit to acquire a signal again. Quote Link to comment

I have to select GPS only for the unit to acquire a signal again. I have a 650. It's been running 4.2 since it was made available. It's been set to GPS+GLONASS since soon after I purchased it more than a year ago. I've never seen that sort of problem, and I'm not seeing it now. Maybe it makes a difference what part of the world you're in; I'm in Ohio, USA. --Larry Quote Link to comment
mjr15197
I'm in New Jersey so I don't think location matters. I'll just have to play around with it to see if I can fix the problem. Thanks Larry. Quote Link to comment
+BikeBill
Here's a link to a guy running 4.1 that had the opposite problem: http://garminoregon6xx.wikispaces.com/share/view/69565746 He had the unit lock up using GPS only and had to switch to GPS + GLONASS to get things working. I think I'll wait a bit before I upgrade to 4.2 until this gets sorted out. Quote Link to comment
mjr15197
Interestingly enough, today my 600t is working fine with GPS+GLONASS enabled! Quote Link to comment
+BikeBill
I'm glad I didn't bother loading v4.2 - v4.3 was just released! Quote Link to comment
+splashy
There's nothing really shocking with both updates anyway. But it works well. Quote Link to comment
+BikeBill
I just took the plunge and went from 4.1 to 4.3. No explosions and no smoke came out of the GPS - so far so good. Now I'll have to actually use it to find a geocache. Quote Link to comment
