Actually, I'm not sure that this is the cache. A previous finder mentioned that he'd repaired the cache with duct tape and I notice that there is some duct tape on the plastic bits. I didn't find anything else that could have been the cache. Perhaps someone who's found "Another Viejas Roadside Cache" could weigh in and say whether this was the cache or not.

This was taken nearly one year ago. Lots of yellow and maybe a hint of that green at the top. I say yes but this may be a job for QDman.

If by bored you mean waiting for Jess to bring Jakob's baby sister "j?" into the world already, then YES!

And then some! But said awaiting precludes me from wandering around in the desert for extended periods of time, and that said, where's GeckoDad, TRViolin, BBB, SlabyFam or Akop etal? Do I really need go get those two lonely caches for you all? OK, done. Email sent to D-Jollymon. :o Game on.

At least the bump worked! :P:D

Ouch. Mostly MIA on the GC front. Shifted to TCs several years ago due to caching opportunities on remote desert peaks and State Park/National Park virtuals (sadly discontinued by Groundspeak). Something special when it takes all day (or possibly longer) to place or find a hide. You will find Mike and Alan frequently there, too. Still enjoy seeing logs on our old GCs.

Congrats on the new J in waiting.

"Most of the caches take you to places you've never been before or you didn't even know existed," says Jeff Jost, 52, of West Hills.

Really?

Sure. I think it is safe to say that there are hundreds of lamp posts that I had never known about, let alone visited, prior to finding a cache there.

Hundreds? Was it like Chinese water torture? :anibad:

But seriously, finding cool new places is what got me into it! B)

Seriously, finding cool new places is at the top of a long list of reasons I enjoy this game. B)

I have a few items that may be of interest to people here:

  • I found a Yrium card (TNG #10) so I put it in our Little Oaks of Olivenhain cache:

    5a230b22-0cec-4b69-9fb6-1dfd8b30e88c.jpg

I thought there used to be a forum for these, but maybe that shows more about how long it's been since I've visited the forums! :anicute:

  • I turned in our TFTC license plates to save some money so if anyone wants them, they may be available at the DMV.

I've been "hardly caching" for the past few years but hope to get back into it again more sometime and see you out there!

Nice to hear from you, TFTC! I've been caching less the past couple of years too, but still go now and then when I get some free time. If you ever want to go caching let me know in your San Diego Events thread...

Thought I'd better post here in addition to FB since none of three 'honorees' is on FB...

A big CONGRATS to dillweed, fisnjack, and Ragfoot for not only completing the Original Fizzy, but for making the long road trip to sign the log and claim their well-deserved smileys! Way to go!!!

WoooHoooooo!!!!

Congrats to all of you! That's quite an achievement!

For some reason today I suddenly remembered my best Geocaching memory ever. In 2004, when the younger half of LeoGeo Team was about to turn 7, we went caching in Dallas. The cache (http://coord.info/GL6T4DA) was located on the other side of a little creek.

I said, "Let's go upstream to that footbridge so we don't get all wet and muddy climbing up and down the banks."

And he said, "But Da-da, getting wet and muddy is what Geocaching is all about!"

Can't argue with that. So we did.

Hey all sd geocachers! I have an event called "Darnall Family Sports Night" coming up next week Thursday May 24th from 5:30 - 7:30

I've decided to sneak in a geocaching booth at the event. Thanks to Habu! (he rocks) I have a layout of the course and gps's for parents to check out. I need geocachers to help run the booth and or help parents/students with the gps units.

It will be a very fun night at my school, good food, dunk tank (for teachers), obstacle course and a Geocaching course. I know it's last minute being a week away. I'm hoping to have 5 - 10 geocaching volunteers! Thank you so much in advance.

If you can volunteer please call me @ 619-840-7765 Also, if someone has a geocaching banner that I could borrow that would be great.

My school address (where the event will take place):

Lemon Grove area

Just a reminder that the La Mesa Centennial Amazing Geocache Challenge begins Saturday June 2nd with the Flag Day Parade!! There will be a Travel Bug going down the parade route on the Flood Masters truck. You can read about the parade here: http://cityoflamesa100.com/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=13

Stop by the Centennial booth at the Parade and pick up a postcard about the challenge and meet some fellow cachers.

You can read about the challenge here: http://cityoflamesa100.com/index.aspx?nid=107

We will be hosting another Geocaching 101 class at 11 am on July 21st at the La Mesa Library. It will be similar to our May class with some minor updates. We are also hoping to hold one last class at the end of the summer in a La Mesa park.

Come out this summer and help La Mesa celebrate turning 100!

Did the La Mesa multi and puzzle caches today. First time out in quite awhile. This is exactly the kind of cache I favor, not really into micros and power trails. What else is out there like the La Mesa caches you guys would recommend these days. Think DAK Girls and TT on his easier days.

See I missed a Flash Mob and the Mash Party this weekend.

RIP GEO-K9-Betsy! TB - M9MEE9

Betsy suffered a ruptured Hemangiosarcoma vascular tumor on her liver early Tuesday 4/2/13, and passed away within a few hours. There were no prior indications that this was her fate.

She always enjoyed the hikes, events and campouts - Meeting new cachers and dogs. She was a rescue Shepard from a high kill Los Angeles shelter and spent almost a year at a veterinarian office in foster care, as no one wanted to adopt her.

We were very fortunate to have her for 8 short years.
