Is it possible to know where are geocoins in my area?

When you look at a list of caches it shows any trackables. It will have an additional icon that's different for TB's and other trackables(different coins have different icons.) You can also look on the cache page, on the right it says cache inventory.

Only thing is it only shows trackables logged in the cache- if so one takes one and doesn't log it it won't be accurate.

What TDM22 says is correct but the system relies on people using it correctly and you will find with experience that the tracking system gets misused quite a bit. You may be very excited that a cache near you has the icon for a geocoin only to find it hasn't been seen there in quite a while. Or you may come upon a cache with no traveler icons and find a geocoin in it. There is no way to say for sure that there will be or won't be a traveler in a cache.

Of course if you want a geocoin of your own you can purchase them from the list of approved manufacturers and vendours on the Geocoin Page of geocaching.com. Please remember that trackable geocoins in caches belong to folks who released them to travel from cache to cache and travelers need not be traded for, only moved.

Good luck.

Traveling and adding miles is the ideal goal of trackables, including geocoins.

Why is it that all the geocoins you have ever retrieved are traveling with you and none have been released into caches . .. :lostsignal: :lostsignal:

Doesn't look like he's had any for more than 2 weeks. Probably looking for the perfect drop off and enjoying them in the meantime.

Thanx everyone for the answers!

yes, i am relatively new with all the geocoins and TB stuff- but I fully understand they "want" to travel and i don't intend to keep any of them with me...

I am going in a week for a vacation in a far away country, and i thought it's an opportunity to find some coins and TB now and put them next week in caches over there, in another continent...

That way they will both travel many miles and see the world, just as they like! [;)]

Thanx again guys for your help. I treat the TB and coins i find nicely, and put it back in other caches, don't worry :)
