+Insp Gadget
I don't see a place in the 62S to run Wherigo cartridges. Are you not able to play Wherigo with it? Quote Link to comment
+Walts Hunting
It appears from the pending release of the Montana that Garmin may have given up on the whole Wherigo thing. It will be their top of the line and not do Whereigos. Won't bother me much since there only 3 in the nearest 1,000 caches to my home and I have never gotten around to doing any of them. They do seem to get a good amount of found logs though so someone is interested. Quote Link to comment

+Triple Crown
Garmin wants people to buy chirps instead of playing free Wherigo games. IMHO the Wherigo is going nowhere. The user interface to make a cartridge is clunky & difficult to use, which means there are very few Wherigo caches out there and (it seems) very little demand for them. Also you can get a Wherigo player on your Android phone, so there's no urgency or exclusivity for Garmin to add it to the new units. Quote Link to comment
K-and-K
It would be nice for folks who don't own a cell phone, as an iPod Touch user even within a Wi-Fi zone available it only has an accuracy of 50 meters maybe at the most. Even when it is tethered to a cell phone out in the field it does not appear to pick up the locational data unless it is continually rebooted and refreshed. K-and-K
I believe the Monterra may but read this : http://peterdean.co.uk/wpblog/?p=197 It will all depend upon the google apps, I know I'll miss using my iPod Touch (6gen) in hand with it, if it works. But until Apple and Microsoft completely amalgamate it will always be a money grab. GeoSphere doesn't require a constant connection to the borg allowing you to connect on your time not theirs. All the more reason why they; geocaching & garmin won't work together - no profit ! At this point I still can't see owning s cell phone just to geocache, it would be the only reason to own one. The world has committed themselves to technology that keeps us tethered to bills & debt. Edited October 14, 2015 by K-and-K Quote Link to comment
