Geocaching shirt - good or bad idea?

I've always been one to geocache solo and sometimes I worry about how suspicious I must look at times. I've been considering getting a bright-colored shirt with "Geocacher" across the front and back partly to make it very obvious that I am not casing any joints, dropping any drugs, or anything else that the casual passer-by might think I am doing when I am poking around in bushes or acting VERY interested in street signs or picking up rocks and then putting them down right back in the same spot. I don't know if this would be a good idea to make people feel safer, or just aggravate some of the issues that cachers have with muggles. I've also considered getting a normal safety vest for more or less the same reason. Any thoughts or feedback on this?

Like in my avatar? I do agree with Wmpastor: if someone is that close, don't put the cache at risk. Mine was for an event; it says "stealth required" on the back, and honestly if that's what people where noticing, it wouldn't help(10 people with 4 vehicles looking a a sign post isn't exactly subtle to begin with)

After 751 caches I have never been stopped by police OR men in white coats. Yet. I don't know if that would make you stick out even more or make you blend in, but I say give it a go!!

Better yet. Hi-vis jacket, trash pick up stick and trash bag. You can use the stick to poke about and pick up the cache, shove it in the bag and take it somewhere to log. When done reverse the procedure. Obviously would only work on small, untethered containers.

... and if you find film pots you can leave them in the trash bag. Everyone's a winner!

I've used the trash pick-up technique, ended up filling 3 bags and getting rid of an old broken shovel before finding the cache. I like this because I feel much less creepy poking around bushes and such. Good for the environment and PR is questioned.

A hard hat, a caution vest, and a clipboard are great for solo cachers.

Perfect for LPC's. No one will pay attention to you, lol.

Except the union guy who sees you and figures the mall is hiring non-union workers. By the next morning, they'll have picketers and a 15-foot-high inflatable rat onsite, lol!
