Is there a "save and post later" option in the new app?

Recommended Posts

Maybe I am just blind, but I have not been able to find an option to "Save and post later" when logging a found cache. In the old app I would mark the cache as found, then just put a word in the log message box so that it would allow me to save and post later. That way I could quickly mark all my finds for the day, then go back later and type in the full messages for each one when I was home. Then I would send all the logs at the same time. Is there a way to do this in the new app?

I'm not sure what the "new" app is...whether it's the free or the paid one.

So, I'm not sure if this will help you:

I'm not sure that the OP is describing field notes. (As an aside, field notes are my favorite un-migrated feature in the Classic app!) Rather, I believe the OP is referring to the options in the Classic App once the geocacher taps "Found it." After entering your log, awarding a favorite point, dropping a trackable and/or attaching an image, the user can either tap "Send Now" or "Save for Later."

Yes, after re-reading the OP, I believe you're right. However, I feel my post is still accurate, since Groundspeak has said they'll be migrating all functionality eventually:

...

All of the Geocaching Classic app's features are either already included or are coming soon in the Geocaching® app.

I have to agree - I went caching w the new app today. I wanted to put short notes to help me remember so I could write longer notes when I got home. The "send later" functionality is gone. They should have included this BEFORE they went live w the new app.

I took pictures of each cache and or the area but when I got home, it was difficult to remember which picture went with which cache.

They're making a mistake rolling this out as they are. Cachers will find another app and never come back to this one.

We need to be able to tap "log cache" and fill out details and add pics and send when we get home.

I used the "save for later" function every time and am finding it unbelievable that Ground Speak doesn't find it to be an immediately necessary function. I hate publicizing where I am. If I post that I have found a cache, then move to my next cache and post that one too, it doesn't take a genius to figure out my route and how long I will be away from my car. I think Ground Speak is involved in some kind of car theft ring :)
