woodysg1
Missed a step dropping my coin, and now it's been found but not showing as dropped. It's not showing in my app as being in my inventory, so I can't go back and drop it. What do I do? Thanks!!! Quote Link to comment
cerberus1
It's showing as "in the hands of..." another. Your trackable has been grabbed from a cache by another on the 18th, as "Grabbed it from Cache Son of a Neal GC5EZ0J this date must not have been logged by owner as yet." explains, so it is in play. The cacher does have a few finds (did a series the day they picked up your trackable), so they'll probably drop it in another cache when they go out again. Quote Link to comment
woodysg1
So, nothing to worry about right? lol Thanks for the reply Quote Link to comment
cerberus1
So, nothing to worry about right? lol Thanks for the reply I'd be kinda happy that the first to grab it was those folks, as they even mention the trackable by it's public code and name in their Found It log. We don't see too many responsible folks like that anymore. Quote Link to comment
cerberus1
You could grab it back, and drop it back into the cache, but I feel it puts extra on someone who's already been helpful (they'd have to grab it again). If me, I'd call it a learning experience, and not worry about that beginning mileage this time. Lucky it wasn't grabbed by a cached-once-n-done cacher. Quote Link to comment

hzoi
You can always contact the cacher who has it now and ask them to visit it to the cache where they picked it up (also known as "dipping" for mileage). Worst thing they can do is say no. Quote Link to comment
rosebud55112
And don't feel bad about this at all--you helped a traveler travel. that's what you're supposed to do. There is always a risk when you drop a traveler that unless you immediately log the find and drop, someone else may find that cache and pick up the traveler before you can make your log. Even if you drop in the morning, and that evening at home log everything, the traveler may have been picked up. If the other person didn't realize it was a fresh drop, or is impatient, they may have grabbed it from you before you could log it into the cache. No problem. Quote Link to comment
