+Jase3gt
I'm sorry if this has already been posted somewhere. I was trying to search for the answer but couldn't find anything. I recently started geocaching and of course, our family wants to create our own geocaches. I bought two FTF trackables to put in the caches. My question is: do we activate these ourselves or put them in unactivated for the person who finds them first to activate? Thanks for the help. Quote Link to comment
+cerberus1
Leave them unactivated if they're a "prize". - Not a prize if you own it... That way the finder can decide what to do with it. Quote Link to comment

+cerberus1
Trackables are one of the nicer things we've found FTF. We usually thank the CO in a PM (email) and tell him what our plans are, in case he's gonna put it on watch. These days, it's awesome that if it goes missing it isn't setting us back anything. +Great Scott!
You can also activate the trackable and offer to adopt it over to the finder. Quote Link to comment
