Simply Paul
Announced at the spiritual home of the Geolympix - an Oxford pub - last Sunday, I'm happy to confirm the return of this Mega event... In three years time. Forward planning! Friday 29th to Sunday 31st of July 2016 at a location in the South East of England yet to be made public. Make a note in your Geocaching Diaries (5-Year version) and keep in touch with a slow trickle of Geolympix 2016 news via Twitter (@Geolympix) and Facebook (/groups/geolympix2016) for now. A new website will follow once it's needed, along with all the usual fundraising plava, merchandise (free fresh AANDs!) and so on. You can read about the original version on its cache page and learn a bit about the Geolympix Mega 'model' (lots of fun stuff for stats-fans and cachers who like to challenge themselves a bit) if you like Quote Link to comment
Beach_hut
:-) I was really sorry I missed the last one so I'm glad there's another one! Quote Link to comment
Islalou
Yaaay, this is brilliant news. Geolymix 2012 was our first ever mega event. It was simply the best week of caching we have ever had, great series' lots of events and of course the original 11 icons in 11 hours challenge, that so many of us completed. There was so much to do, we never did finish all the caches and challenges, but had a wonderful time and made some life long friends at one of the best campsites we have ever stayed at, lived up to it's name of 'Diamond'Farm Thanks Paul for planning to do it all again, we know how much you put into the last one We are sure to attend this one. Please join us by England's 2nd oldest cache (GC177) and the UK's oldest puzzle (GC18BC) to thrash out some plans. I love it when they come together Quote Link to comment

Simply Paul
There's very little that'll stop him We actually have a few ideas to expand on past talks and panel Q&As for the 2016 Geolympix. More news closer to the time. Quote Link to comment
heartradio
Bring the next to the SouthWest, there are too many mega events in the SouthEast! Quote Link to comment
Simply Paul
I was expecting the 'Roving' Mega to head that way in 2015 or later, but from my experience, it is possible to set one up from scratch inside a couple of years (3 to be safe) - so perhaps you need to get a group together to bid for the summer 2017 Roving Mega account slot (saves a lot of hassle and paperwork) or get working on ideas for G(e)oWestFest Quote Link to comment
