I am wondering if there is a way to load a bookmark list from an email. I could copy the list to a text file. Is there a way to upload it? I don't want to manually load it a cache at a time. All help is appreciated.

Make a Pocket Query from the list to get a GPX file of all caches in the list. You download the Pocket Query, it's not sent by email.

Go ahead and mention what you're trying to do with "text files". There may be simpler ways. For example, if you're using the Official App, you can load a list with a couple of taps.

Make a pocket query of the bookmark list. (See that "Create Pocket Query" down at the bottom after the end of the list?) Then, "load" the pocket query to your GPS or Smartphone. This method works regardless of whether you are the owner of the bookmark list.

If you use a Smartphone with the official Geocaching® app, your lists should be available to you there.

EDIT: Kunarion beat me to the right answers, but you might find bits of both answers to be helpful.

Can I make a Pocket Query from a text file?

I usually get an email with a list of caches for a GC trip. I copy the email to a text file so I can put it into GSAK. But, I'd also like to load the list to GC.com so I can Create a bookmark that can be seen by the Official App.

If that part can be done I'd like to keep it in the same order that the email was in.

I don't think what you're trying to do is possible. How are you getting a list of caches in an email? Is a friend just emailing you names and GC codes? You could just create a bookmark list on geocaching .com and then type the GC codes in and make your list that way. And then make a pocket query to put on your GPSr or phone.

Yes, a friend is emailing me a list of GC codes and descriptions. I know that I could enter them manually. I am wondering if there is another way.

That is not a bookmark list.

Is your friend a premium member? If so, they can throw the caches selected for the day's geocaching adventure onto a bookmark list, being careful to set the bookmark list as "shared" but not "public" (so that you can see it, but it isn't referenced on the cache pages for the caches on the list). Then, your friend only needs to email a link to the URL of the bookmark list. You then follow the link, view the bookmark list, and create a pocket query for it.

If you still have the caches in GSAK's database than it's a snap to bulk upload a filter of caches to a GS bookmark list via GS's api.

Re. the same order than in the email

That doesn't work as GS's bookmark lists are always sorted by name. You may alter the cache's names within GSAK to your specific sort order.

Have your friend make the bookmark list as they identify the caches, and make it public (edit: or at least shared). Then you can set up a PQ based off his list and have the list available offline in the app.

I've been creating Bookmark Lists (BL) and enjoying finding them immediately available on my mobile phone. Great!

So far, I've not been able to import a BL created by another cacher and vice versa. In what I've read so far in other threads, when the author and sets both "Public" and "Share with Others" on the BL, it should display at the bottom of the View Profile page after the Favorites for other cachers.

BUT there is reference to linking to the individual page for any cacher who wants to use the BL. Are you saying that is done through Pocket Query (PQ)? Will a PQ import into the mobile app the same way I import my own BLs?

Thanks!
