A while back i used to get a weekly notification of new caches and future events,it changed so that now just a few new caches come in and only a weeks worth of events,so its difficult to organise a diary to go to events, i have missed 5 events this year that i could easily have gone to, i have been told but have forgotten that there is a way to find out future events, if somebody could give me some advice, i would need click by click instructions from a helpfull cacher. thanks in advance. jeff=bones1.

Did you change something in your "instant notifications"?

1.5. Instant Notifications

If you have your home location and postal code in your profile, you can check the "List newest in xxx" to see any newly published events and caches:

http://www.geocaching.com/my/default.aspx

You can also sign up for the weekly newsletter by ticking the appropriate boxes in "your account details", in the box "Your Validated Email Addresses":

If nothing else, you can use the Hide & Seek page, and search for all listing in the United Kingdom:

Yes, they changed something in the newsletter so it doesn't show as many / all of the events anymore.

Here is what I do:

Create a Pocket Query, maybe called Events

Set it up for all event caches, and no other types

Within the distance you are willing to travel

Save that.

Go to the list of pocket queries, and preview the query (icon looks like a magnifying glass).

(You don't really need to schedule this query at all)

Trick:

Double click on the 'Placed' column header -- this will sort them by the date of the event, and you can see what is coming up soon/next!!

I check my query about once a week to see if there are any events coming up that I want to attend.

You are confusing the newsletter with Instant Notifications. They are 2 completely different things, and the OP mentioned "notifications", so I assumed that he/she meant actual notifications.

That was probably a mistake, as I see that the OP mentions "weekly" notifications, so maybe they actually did mean the newsletter.
