The Pineberries
I found one today, and was wondering what the protocol was for the TB's and GeoCoins inside. Do Pathtags count? Quote Link to comment

Pathtags do not count. Some COs state that you are only allowed to remove trackables if you leave an equal number of trackables. I believe Groundspeak has said that such conditions are not allowed. You shouldn't need to practice any special protocol regarding hotels. Treat them like trackables you find in other caches - log promptly, help it accomplish its mission if you can, don't hang on to it for too long. Quote Link to comment
The Pineberries
Okay, that helps, thank you. How do I log a drop off or pick up of a TB when the hotel doesn't come up on my map? Then what exactly do I do with pathtags? I have two from recent caches, do I just move them along to another cache? (I did log them on the pathtag website.) Is the TB hotel a premium member only cache? You can log the trackable by going to its page directly. Go to this page : http://www.geocaching.com/track/ and enter the tracking code where it says "Enter the Tracking Code of the Item". It will bring you to the trackable's page, and you can log a retrieval from there. Pathtags are almost always left as signature trade items. Trade for them as you would for any other swag. If you have more questions about pathtags, either message me directly or check the forums on their website. Further discussion would very likely result in this thread getting locked. As for the TB hotel, well that depends on why you can't see it on the map. Are your eyes open? But seriously there's a couple things that can happen. Either you're using the intro app, or its premium member only cache. If it's the first, you can view all caches (except PMO caches) on the website. If it's the second, well you can still log it as found, and log trackables when you log the cache. I'm not sure the process, but it is allowed and intentionally available for basic members to log PMO caches. Edit to add that you don't need to visit the cache page to log a trackable as picked up. You can go to the trackables section on the website. Edited February 1, 2015 by T.D.M.22 Quote Link to comment
+Seaglass Pirates
If you come across any TB hotel you do the same as any other traditional cache. Because that's what they are and remove any or all TB's to move on. Regardless of what the cache page says or big red letters on any log book etc. or you can leave as many as you wish. Same as any other traditional cache. Pathtags - (we dare not speak their name), so voldmorts, you must send them all to us. Any that you find. It's the law. Somewhere. Quote Link to comment

Jeremy stated several years ago that requiring a one-for-one trade of trackables was a no-no. As he pointed out, trackables are not swag. They are travelers. Also, odds are the owner of the Hotel is not the owner of the trackables you find in there. Which makes the CO even less correct to require equal trades. Quote Link to comment
+GeoLog81
There's no protocol for TB Hotel, because there's nothing like 'TB Hotel'. It's only a name, which suggest, that the cache is big, easily accessible and safe for TBs. But everyone is free to name own cache as they want. Quote Link to comment
