Unable to use disable/ needs maint/ needs archived

You as a non-owner cannot temporary disable a cache that isn't yours. You should be able to log a NM or a NA log, though.

Are you using a browser? I assume so, if you posted this in the Website forum and not an app one. What browser are you using, and is it on a regular computer or a smart device?

In the past I was able to recommend a temporary disable but noticed about a week ago that I cannot click on any of the 3.

Is it in my settings or do I need a certain number of finds to reach a level or what?

The only things you can do as a finder are the logs "needs maintenance" or "needs archived". There is no "disable" option for finders. I'm not sure what "3" options you are talking about.

Not sure what you did in the past other than posting those types of logs.

Help Center → Find a cache → Logging a Geocache

4.2. What log type should I use?

3.7. I found a geocache that needs maintenance

3.8. I found a geocache that needs to be archived

We use chrome as our browser. Previously we have been able to select needs maintenance or archiving from the drop down list.

The new system only has three types of log: found; DNF or note. There is a NM menu at the bottom of the entry screen but we cannot get it to flag up and leave the correct log type.

Three caches I found today needed some maintenance. So my Found It logs had the opening paragraph devoted to what the problem was and then I spent the rest of the Found It log on finding the cache. After I hit Submit two logs are created, a one-line Needs Maintenance log with almost no useful information, and my long Found It log. This forces the CO to read two logs to find out what the problem is, instead of only one log in the old logging system.

I prefer to have my logs divided with the good news of finding the cache in the Found It log, and the bad news of what is wrong with the cache in the Needs Maintenance log.

Has HQ polled COs on whether they prefer the new or old way of handling NMs? I ask since I do not currently own any active caches. But when I did own active caches I liked the Needs Maintenance logs to tell me what the problem was so I knew what to expect when I went to fix the problem. I did not like it when a NM log just said "See my previous log," which is basically what the new NMs say.
