If you could buy a geocoin with names on them similar to the share a coke campaign would you?

 

You would just get a random name and be able to release it and hope someone with that name would find it.

 

Just bouncing around the idea. Say if a 100 people would say yes using those names as engravings.

 

Gauging interest.

Only vaguely familiar with the Coke thing ... but 'no' I would not.

 

Are there really 100 philanthropist coiners here that would INTEND for their traveler to be kept for someone else's collection ...

or as a gift to just someone else they know with THAT name ... ?? ... who may not even be a geocacher ...

 

Many here do wonderful, gratis donations, etc, but I would be hesitant to say we (or at least "I") would be willing to pay

for a coin to release for an 'unknown' to keep it. Too many coins already wind up ... in an 'unknown location' ...

Maybe with a mission to " have your picture taken" with a person with this name. That might help with someone thinking they get to keep it.... could be fun.

I never bought one of those name-cokes, but as far as I understand it you can order your own name printed on the can - included in the layout, big and obvious, white on red, not just a laser engraving on the silver.

 

What you describe doesn't sound similar at all.

 

If they had the prize of a can of coke each... then you probably will get a lot of people interested.
