Geobags

A bit of overkill most days but we have camelback backpack with:

- swag, snacks, large multitool, small multitool, gloves, emergency ponchos, flashlights, rechargeable batteries, kid's personal geocoins and several FRS radios to keep the 12 year old 'in range'. The bag also has a velcroed cloth trackable on it as well as a local geocaching club patch. Oh, and when going on a 1/2 day or longer run, the camelback water pouch filled with enough ice water for the day's adventure.

Normally the bag just sits in my trunk.

Have fun,

Depends on the type of caching planned. Grab and go's get my small purse with a couple of pens, change purse and phone. My caching jacket holds a few other pens, tweezers and a few trinkets. For slightly longer treks, I have a sling bag which can be slid from back to front. Should I venture out for longer...then it would be the backpack, IF I can behave myself and not stuff too much in it!

I use a fanny pack, but there's not enough room in it for tools/logbooks/swag/snacks, maybe a water bottle...so I am going to move on to a sling pack. I have tried a camera bag/similar, but I like to have my hands free and the camera/other bags tend to swing around and bang into me while walking/hiking. A sling pack would eliminate that issue.

I used to carry a backback full of stuff. These days, it's a pen in my pocket, multitool on my belt, GPS in my hand. On hot days or long hikes, my hydropack has a small pocket for other sundries, as well. I have given up on carrying tape and logs and other cache repair items. Let the owner do the maintenance. I maintain mine.
