gobstopper2
Hi folks, I have a Garmin 62s which I use with at work with school groups and as I regularly visit the same locations need to mark found caches as unfound to be used again. Is there a simple way to do this. Hope this makes sense. Many thanks Ben Quote Link to comment
+geodarts
Try going to Geocaches. Select Show Found>[select geocache]>Log Attempt->Unattempted. This should put the cache back on the Unfound List My first thought while waiting for a train was to try deleting the "geocache_visits.txt" from the garmin directory, but I suspect that the unit would use a deeper file to keep track of such things. +ecanderson
Indeed. The geocache_visits.txt file is ONLY a log where your F/DNF and comments are appended line by line. The unit does nothing more than append log data to that file. It never looks at it for content. Moving a 'found' to 'unattempted' should work, but the OP needs to be aware that the log that was originally created in the geocache_visits.txt file from the original find will remain, and will appear (but can be deleted) if the field notes are uploaded to gc.com.
