The exact time that souvenirs can be collected

Is the souvenir on 11 June recorded when it is 11 June local time or when it is 11 June in one of the US time zones?

 

Sydney time on most of 11 June will be a different time in the US.

I manually changed the date I collected two souvenirs to make them on the date they are awarded. My Question is still the same.

 

Anyone know the answer?

If the souvenir is awarded for finding a cache on June 11th 2016 it means your local time, so if you set the date on the found log to say June 11th 2016 the souvenir is awarded whatever day you log it.

In previous threads about this, the fact that the servers are in Seattle have been found to be the culprit. Yes, the time zone difference has created problems in the past.

4.4. Why is the time stamp wrong on my log?

 

All time stamps on logs in the database are in Seattle time, the location of Geocaching HQ.

 

However, you can correct the date on your logs at any time on our website:

 

Log into your account on Geocaching.com.

Click your username in the upper right corner (takes you to Your Profile).

Look for your log under "Your Logs (Last 30 Days)". If the log is older than 30 days, click Geocaches next to "Show all Logs". You can narrow the list further by selecting "Found It".

Once you find the correct log, select "Visit Log".

Click the pencil ("edit") icon above the log.

Choose the correct date for your log and click "Submit Log Entry".

 

If there was a souvenir awarded on that day, you should now be awarded the correct souvenir.

My wife found many caches on Saturday (6/11/16), but didn't log them until Sunday (6/12/16).

 

The souvenir says it was earned on 6/12/16, the day she logged her finds.

That answers my question. It should be an easy fix when the location of each cache is by definition known.

 

Perhaps a bit of adgitation to fix the problem for all members who don't live in the Pacific Time zone.

This is because Groundspeak consider the date you "acquired" a souvenir to be the date on which you submit the log, not the date on the log itself. Personally, I consider the date I acquired a souvenir to be the date that I found the necessary cache. "Leap Day Souvenir - Acquired on March 3rd" just doesn't make sense to me.
