+realityshownut(RSN)
I seached the forum for this topic but didn't find anything. I apologize if this has already been covered/discussed. I would like my logged DNF's to appear on the map as a blue sad face. Is that a possibility? Quote Link to comment

I would like my logged DNF's to appear on the map as a blue sad face. Is that a possibility? There's a lot of requests for this in the "Bug Reports and Feature Discussions > Website" forum, where this thread should have been posted. +cerberus1
Rarely go back to a cache I dnf, and when pm, would simply ignore 'em afterwards. I can see those interested in that function though. I just wouldn't use it. If ever approved, I'd like that to be optional, the default w/o blue frowns on my map, thanks. Quote Link to comment
+edscott
I think a DNF is as much a part of the game as a find and am looking ahead to my 1000th DNF sometime this year. Having them on a map might be somewhat helpful, but putting the ones you want to try again in a bookmark list and ignoring the ones that have already given you more than enough fun, makes more sense to me. +niraD
As long as it's optional, so the blue frownie of the DNF doesn't obscure the much more useful information of the cache type icon or the cache's enabled/disabled state. Quote Link to comment

I wouldn't mind an indication that I had DNFed a cache, but not at the expense of the icon for the cache's type. They already use the shape to indicate PMO status, and and the background color to indicate the NM attribute being set. I'm not sure what else they could use to indicate the presence of a DNF log. How about enhancing the icons with badges instead of replacing them? Quote Link to comment
+Mic'n'Di
Is the DNF feature (blue sad face) still being worked on??!! Also - auto messages on Logged DNFs would be helpful as I like to follow up ie know if it was lost or if I just misssd it. Quote Link to comment

+noncentric
Is the DNF feature (blue sad face) still being worked on??!! It's never been confirmed by TPTB that this type of feature would be implemented. It's been requested several times, but that doesn't mean it's being worked on. Also - auto messages on Logged DNFs would be helpful as I like to follow up ie know if it was lost or if I just misssd it. There are a couple options to achieve what you're looking for: (1) Watchlists: The "Watchlist" feature will send you an email whenever there is activity on caches that you decide to "Watch". -- Open the cache page in a web browser, either on your computer or on your phone. -- Click on "Watch" towards the top-right of the cache page, under the blue frowney face image. (2) Bookmark Lists -- Create a Bookmark List - maybe name it "DNFs". -- Open the Bookmark List page in a web browser. -- Click on "Edit" next to the list you created. -- Select "Notify me when items on this list are logged." -- Click the Edit Bookmark List button. -- Add caches that you've DNF'd to this Bookmark List. The benefit of this method is that you'll be able to add/remove caches to/from this list via the app. To add additional caches to the list, you won't have to open those caches in a web browser each time. You'll be able to simply select "Add to List" within the app. Quote Link to comment
+hal-an-tow
I've had a play around with gsak, and find I can filter for my unfound caches, then for listings with one or more DNFs by me, then use the map macro to show my 500+ dnfs ). Not that I'm bothered about seeing my DNFs on the map or not, I just wanted to see if it could be done easily. I wonder if the lack of official interest in developing the feature is because it's good business to encourage the attitude "This is a cache I've yet to find." , rather than "This is my caching failure." ? +Team DEMP
I wonder if the lack of official interest in developing the feature is because it's good business to encourage the attitude "This is a cache I've yet to find." , rather than "This is my caching failure." ? This isn't my mindset at all. I watch DNFs to see follow-up logs either indicating the cache is missing or I missed it. If I see more DNFs I mark as NM and then NA. If a see others log finds I'm pretty motivated to return and revenge my DNF. So either way, it's good for the game and not something that shouldn't be obviously conveyed. Quote Link to comment
+igator210
I know Looking4Cache app tracks DNFs, as long as yo are using offline lists. Quote Link to comment
