New vs. Refurbished GPS

Recommended Posts

Just THINK what you can do with a gps, then it goes to Garmin. they get it working again, because obviously it didn't, they supply a new (looking) casing.

Because of a discount of a mighty $ 20 you are allowed to buy this thing.

Yes it's a Very nice Gps, but its old.

I love refurbed electronics! I've never had a problem with any refurb stuff I've bought, and that includes the DeLorme PN-20 I used to have. I figure that a refurb item already had it's problems and had it fixed, so any issues where already someone elses problems! Check out www.pcnation.com , they have good prices on Garmin stuff, and their refurb 60CSx is $40 cheaper than the new one:

Refurb $248:

Refurbs are fine for handhelds, but be more wary for auto GPS. They often come with older maps and are not eligible for free updates if a new map comes out right after purchase.

:(

Just brought a Nuvi 255W (White-Box) Refurb, it had the 2009 maps installed, the with in 60day of use update, as well as a one year warranty......so far everthing is ok fine, have made a couple of 2000 mile plus runs using the unit, and yes I would buy another Refurb unit!
