Ealing, London on 2/29 week

Hi everyone-- I will be flying across the pond for a few days and will be staying near Ealing Common tube from 2/28-3/2. I know of two Leap Day events in central London that I would dearly love to get to, but my schedule just may not allow it. I have cached in London but have not yet been to an event there. Would anyone be willing to help me host a morning event in Ealing on the 29th? Perhaps a "Meet An American Cacher" at a coffee shop? Obviously I can host an event myself (and have, ha ha) but it would be nice to have a local contact.

Also, my memory is a bit foggy, but does Ealing have the rentable bike racks (Barclays, I think?) like there are in central London?

Thanks very much for any help... feel free to message me on the Geocaching.com system as well under the same handle, JuggerMom7, if you like.

I can't help you to organise an event, but I can tell you that the bike scheme doesn't extend as far as Ealing. BTW it's nolonger Barclays, it's now Santander, but EVERYBODY (including google) calls them "Boris Bikes" after the Mayor, there's a map here: https://tfl.gov.uk/maps/cycle-hire

As for the existing events this one http://coord.info/GC673T3 will be going on until late (it says 9pm, but I would expect people to be there well after 10pm), you can get a tube from Ealing Broadway to Either Bank or Monument, which are both within 300yards of the event. These London events are always well attended by both locals (including me) and visitors for overseas, so you'll be made welcome :)

If you really want help organising an event and you do facebook then sign up to https://www.facebook.com/groups/geocachinglondon/ and ask in there, as it's much more active than this group.

Thanks for the info, Marty! I've got that event and the one at Lincoln's Inn Fields on my radar, but since my schedule is dependent upon the schedules of the other two people in our party, my attendance is still iffy. Bit I'll definitely check out the Facebook group for sure. It'd be nice to connect with a couple of London-area Partners In Caching!
