These are cool! Did you make them yourself? What are they made of?

It wasn't until AFTER I made a few of these, that I realized that my cookie cutter, WASN'T ACTUALLY ROUND!!

You did a good job on these!

Some very nice stuff already shown. Mine is pretty simple. It's about the size of a Scrabble tile, with a wood burned X on one side and my Sig Randco on the other. I clear coated them with polyurethane.

These are the 2 cents I usually leave for a find, but I have 10 other designs for trade as well:

This is what they all look like on the back, so all of my sig items are lucky: ;)

Super simple business cards for me. Printed business card stock on both sides with a color laser printer and then hot laminated the cards. Super cheap to make and easy to carry.

JOATsig.jpg

I've been thinking about making a batch of really small cards for the micro and small caches as the business card size generally only fits in regulars or the bigger end of the small caches (e.g. decons).

These are great! How do you make them?

I use a cheap clay, roll it out to around 3/8 of an inch with a kitchen rolling pin.

Then I use a dragon stamp made for leather working to make the dragon. Then I use a round cookie cutter to cut the circle and put it aside to dry a bit. After a few hours I scribe my handle and 2010 (this year) and allow it to dry all the way (or put them in the oven for a couple hours at 175 degrees).

After they are completely dry I fire them in my kiln to make them into bisque. After they cool for 12 hours I paint them and then fire them again in the kiln to set the glaze.

The whole process takes 3 days and I get about 60 each time.

Team 360 Original Can of Beans "sig item":

A very interesting "sig item". This group claims to be with the person who created the Disney version of the Beast from Beauty and the Beast. That person apparently then drew this Beast on a postcard and dropped it in a cache. I made sure to trade very well for this one.

A million dollars!!

Seriously, if you want me to fire something for you I will. I don't have a problem helping people out. I just don't let people use my expensive things as a rule. Hope you understand.

Editing to add that I am glazing a bunch of them today and will be firing them in about an hour. ~WOOT~

Thank you to everyone for sharing.

BITTSEN, those are great.

Snoogans, well you already know what I think about your stuff.

AZisbest, do you have a bigger picture?

I am going to have to admit my ignorance here, I am new to sending pics. If you are being facetious and you are chiding me for the size of the pic, I am sorry I tried to downsize the thing on photobucket. If the pic really did downsize I cant tell from here, it looks huge, lol.

Looks really small on my computer too. I saw another thread where pictures were showing up for those who used firefox and not for those who had IE, I wonder if it's something like that?

BTW I love those. How far do I have to go to get one or who do I have to bribe?

Ohh No, Im sorry, I didn't mean anything disrespectful, The pictures are really small on my screen and I would like to see them bigger so I can get a good look at those scorpion looking things. Maybe you can post the link of the picture? Id like to see them, they look pretty cool.

Strange, when looking at the forum posts on my computer the pic fills about 80% of the screen, its huge. But you say on yours its tiny? Maybe someone could tell me what I am doing wrong.

Is this any better? Or the same.

I started out by taking a deck of very small playing cards and customizing them with my own personal greeting and leaving them in caches as my signature item. It seemed appropriate, given my geoname.

After a while, I had some geocoins made up, and I drop those into caches that I really like. They're a bit expensive to drop in every cache, so I still use the playing cards, too.

well in fact.....I am a DJ pursuing a career in nightclub/rave marketing, pr, and event planning. its my passion. in the dance scene, you often see what is known as "kandi". these are bracelets made of colorful plastic beads that ravers trade and swap at parties. I usually make some and put it in there.

My camera sucks too much, I can't get a good picture of mine

USMCGecko's suggestion is a good one, esp. if your item is mostly flat. It's also the easiest way to get a photo of a geocoin. If you don't have a scanner, try the following:

1. Make sure you're not too close to the object. Cameras have a minimum focusing distance, and if you get too close, they can't focus.

2. Make sure there is plenty of light. Less light = longer time the shutter is open = greater chance of blur from camera shake.

3. Place the item on a table, and support yourself / your camera on something solid so that the camera moves as little as possible. You may want to use the timer as well to prevent camera shake.

The best setup is, of course, a DSLR with macro lens on tripod, light box, multiple flashes (bounced / diffused), mirror lock-up with remote shutter release. But I don't think we need to do all that unless you're selling your sigitem at Sotheby's

Possibly the coolest signature item I have seen... Hint Hint... I might like to get one.

I might be willing to drop a few near the Canadian border but that's as far as I go...

Stupid new passport requirements!!

Drop some around San Francisco. No passport required to come here from Oregon

I am pretty new to all this, and I haven't made many yet, but you can see mine on my profile gallery.

I just received an email recently from someone who found one of mine and traded for a geocoin. They just wanted to let me know that they really liked it and planned to keep it in their collection.

I thought it was nice of them to take the time to say as much.

much respect~ 5$

I have good memories from my last trip to SanFran...

But, alas, it's more than a tank of gas away.

Canada and back s a day trip. I'd have to get someone to share the ride to SanFran but it's not out of the question.

Of course if I could get my old frieds sister to come along I could relive a memory.
