+mttroutslyr
I just bought an Oregon 600T and have got the latest update on it. I have tried to load geocaches from geocaching.com. They show as loading but I go back into the gps and there is nothing there. I contacted Garmin and they checked everything out and everything is working properly. Any ideas as to what the problem might be? Quote Link to comment
+kunarion
I have tried to load geocaches from geocaching.com. They show as loading but I go back into the gps and there is nothing there. You need to be more specific. Are you saying the files are shown listed in the device's GPX folder, but no caches show when you tell the GPSr to display caches? Or are you using "Send To GPS" which is not working so well lately, so the files are not arriving at all? To be clear, you are loading them manually into the GARMIN/GPX folder, right? Using a file manager? If not, do that. If so: 1) Caches beyond about 100 miles from the GPSr's location will not automatically be displayed. 2) Check to be sure the caches are not out of view due to some selected filters. The caches aren't found in the device's GPX folder. All of the caches I'm trying to load into the device are within 40 miles of my home cords. Quote Link to comment

It is the 'Send to GPS' software on the web site that is not working. It is affecting all units. There's an easy work-around. Use the 'GPX File' button on the cache web page instead and download the GPX file. You can have it saved directly to your Device/Garmin/GPX folder. That is all that the 'Send to GPS' button did, anyway. If you want to be a little more organized about it, create a folder on your desktop and download your new GPX files there. Then drag/drop them into the Device/Garmin/GPX folder using Windows Explorer. You have to manually go into the Device/Garmin/GPX folder periodically anyway, to remove the older GPX files that you don't need any more. Quote Link to comment
